Intro and Lacrosse Videos
by posted 03/23/2020

Hi all,

Things have been a little crazy and I know it's been tough with schools canceled and the lacrosse season postponed, but I figured I'd introduce myself and share with you all some lacrosse videos that I've made for players to do on their own. There is no better time than now to be putting in the work to improve.

A little bit about myself:

My name is Sophia Agostinelli and I'm going to be entering my third season coaching Fairfield Youth Lacrosse. I currently am also an assistant coach at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.

My coaching experience includes coaching for a variety of competitive club and town lacrosse teams including the Grizzlies, Westport PAL, CMASS, Mass Mavericks, and the Bay State Bullets. I have also coached at a variety of age and skill levels, ranging from 1st and 2nd graders learn to play out of SONO field house, to the collegiate level as an assistant for the University of Bridgeport Women’s lacrosse team. I even had the opportunity to coach the German National Women’s lacrosse team when I was living in Germany right after graduating.

Before I started my coaching career I played four years of lacrosse at the College of the Holy Cross, as both a defender and occasional draw taker. At Holy Cross, I earned All-Patriot League Honors and was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after tying the Patriot-League all-time record of 6 caused turnovers in a single game. During my senior year, I played for the inaugural Italian National Women’s Lacrosse team and was ranked 17th nationally in caused turnovers.

From my experience both playing and coaching lacrosse I hope to develop your daughter’s ability to play and love for the game.

Every Monday I hope to create about ~30 minutes of lacrosse video content for the girls to watch. These exercises should take close to ~60 minutes to perform and should be great exercise to keep the girls in shape and help them learn a little bit more about the game of lacrosse. This week's content includes a wall ball routine (in two parts), agility footwork, and an offensive drill that works on getting comfortable with your stick and dodges.

Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe out there,

Please let me know if you have any questions,

Sophia Agostinelli
